About Me

I am a Cheshire born ceramic artist who uses both throwing and hand-building techniques to produce a range of functional and decorative pieces, no two exactly the same. Inspired at a young age through cultural family trips to museums and historical sites all over the world I try to infuse different styles into my work.

My ceramic journey only began in earnest back in 2017 when I joined a local pottery group as an outlet for my hither-to stifled artistic cravings, which until then had been pushed aside to focus solely on academic subjects, namely science. It was here that I realised that art was a more fulfilling use of my time and ceramics was the medium that spoke to me the most. So, after the radical move of declining my Science degree I started on a brighter path towards ceramics which led me to a degree at Sunderland University.

I still hold curiosity for the world of science which has meant my work often contains botanical structures and organic undertones. I use methodical and extensive experimentation in my work process to progress each piece from my imaginings into solid reality.

So far, I've only just begun to scratch the surface and I'm excited for the journey ahead!
